Few people find their passion at the early age of 6. Austin Kerr, born in Arlington, Texas, became a part of his family’s furniture manufacturing business early in life. This involvement enabled him to acquire many skills to specialize in a wide variety of painted finishes, with a particular interest in antique reproduction.
In 2009, Kerr launched his own company in Miami serving designers with high-end finishes. The diverse culture and community transformed his life and work, leading him to art as a new creative outlet. The artwork became a nexus
for art and theology, keeping his work and himself connected deeply to God. He believes contemplative art give us a vulnerable place to observe aspects of life we don’t typically consider, helping us to be more present with one another and to live more enriched lives.
As a Christian, Kerr firmly believes in partnering with God in all his works by sacrificing himself to his art and being refined as a person and artist in the process. All this with a end goal of blessing others and glorifying God through his works.
Kerr’s works are shown throughout the U.S. and abroad by Amelie Maison d’art in Paris. His works of art have been featured in show-houses like Kips Bay Palm Beach and have been published in many magazines including AD & Veranda.
